How credits work
What a credit is, what actions cost, holds and refunds, and when credits expire.
What a credit is
A credit is a prepaid unit of AI work. One credit is worth one US cent at list price, so 1,000 credits is $10 of work. Every image, video and content plan spends credits from your workspace balance. Writing, editing, approving and scheduling by hand do not.
Your balance, what is held for jobs in progress, and a full statement are in Settings, Billing.
What things cost
Each action has a fixed price in credits. These are the list prices at the time of writing. The live list is on Pricing and on your Billing page, and that list is the one to trust if the two ever differ.
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Content plan (one planner run) | 7 |
| Image (one image or carousel slide) | 30 each |
| Creator video, native voice | 570 each |
| One-take video | 580 each, or 130 per second for longer takes |
| Talking-head video | 45 per second |
| Creator video, lip-synced | 45 per second |
Where it helps, the app shows a cost hint such as “Costs ~60 credits” before you commit. Per-second prices are charged for the seconds actually produced, so a shorter render can cost less than its estimate.
Holds, charges and refunds
A job's final cost is not always known up front, so credits move in three steps. Think of the hold a hotel puts on a card.
- Hold. Just before a paid step runs, the most it could cost is set aside. Those credits leave your available balance and show as Held.
- Charge. When the step finishes, you are charged what it actually used. Anything left over from the hold goes back to your balance.
- Return. If the step fails before it is billed, the whole hold is returned.
Holds happen right before the paid step, not when you start a job. A video waiting at an approval step has not yet reserved credits for the render after it. Your statement uses these labels: Held for a job, Charged, Returned and Refunded, job failed. The last one appears when a job ends in failure after a charge and the credits are given back.
If you do not have enough credits, the step stops before anything is generated and you are not charged. See Troubleshooting.
Plan credits and top-up credits
Credits are kept in separate buckets, each with its own expiry.
| Kind | Where it comes from | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| Plan credits | Added each time a subscription invoice is paid. | At the end of that billing period. They do not roll over. |
| Purchased (top-up) | A one-time pack of 1,000, 5,000 or 20,000 credits. | 12 months after purchase. |
| Promotional | A grant from us, for example during a campaign. | Set per grant. Shown on your Billing page. |
| Added by support | A manual correction by our team. | Positive corrections do not expire. |
Credits that expire soonest are spent first, so monthly plan credits are used before top-ups. Your Billing page lists each bucket with its remaining amount and expiry date.
A yearly plan adds twelve months of credits when the yearly invoice is paid, and they expire at the end of that year. When your balance drops under 1,000 credits, a banner offers a shortcut to add more.
Plans and prices are on Pricing. How to upgrade, buy a pack or cancel is in Billing.
